An amazing species of wood found growing in the southeastern United States. Southern Yellow Pine is both beloved and hated at the same time here in the south. While it paints a beautiful landscape with it's tall structure and bright green needles, those needles drop, creating a nightmare for any southern lawn or garden. Pines stand out particularly in the fall when all the surrounding species turn yellows and red, the green of Southern Pine hold, painting an amazing mosaic of color upon the landscape.
